Capturing Utah...

A good friend told me to submit some of my photos for a new book that is being published about Utah. Capture My Utah is looking for the best photos of Utah to be published in a unique, hard-bound, coffee table book. And needless to say, I would be THRILLED to have one of my photos in the book. I've submitted 3 so far, but I'll be submitting more over the next few days. Submission ends September 30th, so I need to get busy and go through my best Utah shots. And then you need to get busy and VOTE FOR ME. haha!

30 Days

I turned in my final version of Project 4 - Personality this morning. Whew! This is one of my favorite quotes and I have a simpler version of it on my desk at work. Now on to Project 5 and I have no ideas yet. Time for some brain storming, I have thumbnails due tomorrow.

30 Days - Behind...

Well that's the story of my life, always behind. I've been creative everyday, just haven't been so good at posting. Since last week I've edited 100's of pictures, played with some more photshop actions and finalized the project that I post thumbnails for last week.And started on my thumbnails for this week's project...type design with personality. Using only type use a quote or saying and show personality with font, size, design.
Only a week and a half left in Typography! I haven't even had a chance to look ahead and see what the next and last project will be, but I'm sure it will be fun. This class has been a blast.

30 Days - Day 8 and 9

Finally have a new logo design that I'm happy enough with for my new photog blog. Now time to get some business cards made. I'm also going to be using this as my new copyright watermark for the pictures I post online. Worked on this for days 8 and 9. Creating the right rose for me was the hardest part and I finally found a brush that I could use a part of and feel satisfied. Isn't satisfied a great feeling? I also played last night (day 9) with some photoshop actions and worked on this picture I took during a photo session. I think it turned out pretty cool. :o)

30 Days - Days 6 and 7

Well between my photography business and my homework creating each day has been a necessity to try and keep up with things.


Day 6 I spent hours and hours editing pictures and practicing with Photoshop Actions to see which ones I liked the best. I'm still trying to work on my technique and get faster with my edits. I honestly can spend hours tweaking photographs and I'm very picky about my end product. I haven't added any new ones to the blog yet though.


Day 7 was homework day. Project 3 in my Typography class is to create a font poster. The specifications are to choose one font and create a poster based on a grid (edit: forgot to mention this earlier but it's a collage poster) and using the artist Piet Mondrian's work as inspiration. Oh and research the font designer and use one or two paragraphs from your research for the text of the poster. WHEW! Oh yeah, and only using black and white. I don't know I think they could have thrown in a few more requirements in this assignment. Geez. :o)

My create today was homework. Project 2 in my Typography is text poster with only the words as the graphic elements. Also we can only use one color.

Is is my draft. The final version is due on Sunday.
